Working from home is becoming more and more common and more and more available to more and more people. Seriously though, I was trying to come up with a good topic for this week’s feature story and I always remind myself to write what I know. I thought about topics that I hadn’t covered yet that I do know something about and thought about my life and my “jobs”.

Back in the day, when you talked about working from home for women it was usually running a daycare in her home, and while that is still a very lucrative business for many women, it is not the only way to have a career or even a job from home. I know there will many jobs that I am going to skip, but I’m only going to touch on what I know. For those of you who know of other jobs and resources, please leave a comment to share your knowledge with other readers.

I personally, have 3 different jobs that I am working from home or mostly from home.

Job #1- Freelance Writing- there are many freelance writing sites out there but most of them want you to write for so much less than you are worth. They are what are known as content mills. In other words they want to make money off of your writing and they know that there are many people who will write for next to nothing. I did this for a couple of years until I got up enough confidence to ask for more money. A couple of good sites to check out and make what amounts to average to above average are Remilon for writing about colleges and degrees. The thing that sets Remilon apart from other writing sites is that they pay by the hour. They start at cheap cialis no prescription $8, but it’s not meant to be your sole income. Another good site to check out is elance. Elance handles more than writers; they are like a middle man, connecting freelancers in many fields with companies who need to hire independent contractors.

Job #2- ACN – is a multilevel marketing company. I have only recently become involved with ACN but they work like most multilevel marketing companies. The difference with ACN is that you don’t have to host parties and sell mass quantities of merchandise. Instead you are selling services, such as cell, phone, satellite TV, home phones and more. I think I’m really going to enjoy this. I don’t expect to get rich and don’t really buy into the “you can make $10,000 a month” but to supplement my income, I believe it will help.

Job #3- Personal Assistant- most of you know that I moved to Sacramento to become Cheap Cialis Online Without Prescription a personal assistant for a childhood friend who is so busy running his business that he doesn’t even have time to wash his car. While I do spend time in both his business office and home office, at least half of my time is spent working from home. I pay his bills, sort through old files, answer emails and book travel from my home.

I know there are many other jobs out there that afford you the opportunity to work from home, but as I said, I just wanted to write about what I know. If you have any to add to this list please leave a comment.
